Saud Anwar Cares for CT
As a physician, Dr. Anwar knows caring for a patient while ignoring the community around them only treats the symptom, not the problem. That’s why he went on to get a Master’s in Public Health and has worked to make Connecticut a better place for everyone.
In 2011, Dr. Anwar was elected to the South Windsor Town Council, and he became Mayor in 2013. There he worked to make South Windsor a healthier community by reducing teenagers’ access to tobacco, creating walking trails, starting a farmer’s market. working with restaurants to provide access to fresh food, and educating our school on healthy eating.
As Mayor, Dr. Anwar also made South Windsor more environmentally friendly. He put South Windsor on the path to reduce its reliance on single-use plastic bags, increase recycling, and become a sustainable town.
Now Dr. Anwar is running for State Senate because we deserve a representative who will stand up for our Democratic values, including:
Expanding access to and lowering the cost of health care
Defending a woman’s right to choose
Fighting to put an end to the opioid crisis
Making higher education more affordable and increasing vocation training opportunities
Revitalizing our economy and keeping young people in Connecticut
Making our state more affordable for working people and families
Protecting Connecticut residents from Trump’s agenda •
ON FEBRUARY 26, VOTE FOR SAUD ANWAR FOR STATE SENATE!
